About the Author
Steven T. Karris is the president and founder of Orchard Publications. His undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Christian Brothers University, Memphis, Tennessee, and from Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida. He is a registered professional engineer in California and Florida. He has over 30 years of professional engineering experience in industry. In addition, he has over 30 years of teaching experience as an adjunct professor at several educational institutions, the most recent at UC Berkeley, CA.

OK as an induction both digital circuits and Simulink, but ...

I think the author's presentation is clear. It is fine as an induction to digital circuits as well as Simulink. Doing digital circuit design and analysis in Simulink is only for fairly simple circuits.

But the book is fairly superficial. The book can be read in a day or two. So I would not recommending buying and keeping the book (especially given the price of the book). It has very little value as a reference book that I would want to return to it later.

Disappointed

The book is introductory, which is okay. The problem is that the examples are way too simple, and they are not as practical as I was expecting them to be. What caught my attention was the "Design with Simulink" part, which happens to be what it lacks most of. It does have some examples, but to my taste, too few to be worth a purchase. The authors could have done a much better job at the practical design and implementation of digital circuits using Simulink.
