A great productivity skill to train

I always thought that speed reading would mean scan reading and just the main message but none of the details. The author actually shows how to read much faster and not loose in quality through some very useful exercises.
I love reading in my free time and I also have to read a lot for work in English, which is not my native language. Therefore I was really interested to try out this method. After just a week practice my rate has increased from 300 to almost 600 EWPM (efficient word per minute). Again that's for reading in a foreign language. It's just amazing.
The finger right pointing helped me a lot as well as to eliminate the voice in my head when I read.

I read a lot of books each year, but am always struggling with wanting to read faster AND increase comprehension. The two seem to be mutually exclusive at times. However, I found many of the tips and exercises provided in this handy guide to be very helpful. Of course, learning this skill is an individual process and no one method works for every person so you’ll have to judge for yourself which works best for you. For me, double-pointing and keywords seems to be key to my speed and comprehension. Used in combination, I have already increased my rate by about 25% so far based on the included assessment in the appendix.

Great Tools and Techniques

Great book to learn about speed reading and tools to help you do it. I love that it has assessments to help you determine where you are at for your reading speed and then gives tips on how to increase reading speed, I was shocked at how many of the questions in the assessment that I didnt know the answer to, I guess part of my issue is controlling distractions while I am reading.
