I am entering my Freshman year of college, years away from interviewing for any "real" job, but Mr. Adler's book will help me in many different walks of life. Oscar puts the reader at every advantage from the time before the interview until writing the follow up thank you letters. He provides insight on what to expect, and shifts your thinking from considering yourself to analyzing the needs of both the interviewer and the company. Ideas like this will help anyone be more successful socially. The features/benefits idea is simple but genius, and is a necessity for any interviewee to understand. Thank you Mr. Adler for this classic!

Remembering (Korea: 1950-1953) is the author’s memoir. This book describes his involvement in Korea during the Korean War and points out the reasoning behind the conflict.

Over the years, the Korean War has been considered “The Forgotten War” by many. At one time, President Harry S. Truman referred to it as a “Police Action,” but 5,720,000 Americans who served in Korean have never forgotten what it was about and that it was much more than just a “Police Action.” They understand that it was an all-out war, and one of the bloodiest in American history. It involved over 20 countries of the United Nations that joined with the United States to save the South Koreans from annihilation and the tyranny of the communist countries, such as Russia and North Korea.

On July 27, 1953, an armistice was signed and today South Korea remains as a free nation and one of the strongest and wealthiest countries in Asia. This book is to help Americans understand what the war was all about and describe one soldier’s experience and opinion of the conflict.

About the Author

Dennis J Ottley was born on January 28, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He lived in many different towns throughout his childhood, but his family finally settled in Evanston, Wyoming. He quit high school at the start of his senior year and joined the 141st Tank Battalion of the Wyoming National Guard. About the same time he met a girl who he became very serious about and married on July 26, 1950.

When the Korean War started, Dennis’ guard unit was activated in September of 1950. In July 1951 Dennis was selected for overseas duty and was sent to Korea to help form a new tank company. After serving almost ten months in Korea as a tank gunner and tank commander, he was discharged on May 29, 1952.

Upon arriving home in Evanston, he immediately went back to work to make a new life for himself and his family. After a few years he became highly involved in his community and ended up serving three 4-year terms as a member of the Evanston City Council and three 4-year terms as Mayor.

Dennis was in business for himself most of his adult life and retired from his real estate agency at the end of 2013 at the age of 81. After raising four sons and 64 years of marriage, he and his wife Sandy still live in Evanston.

Full of Mistakes - Frustrating as a textbook!!!

This book is a required text for a graduate level Advanced Computer Applications course I am taking. The book provides detailed instructions (for example) to create Excel spreadsheets in the study assignments to include formatting and precise coding. Unfortunately, I've been pulling my hair out with the numerous errors contained in the assignment instructions, causing EXCESSIVE amounts of study time trying to figure out the correct coding. Whoever wrote the Excel section needs to be fired, and whoever was supposed to proof read that section also needs to be fired.
If you are an instructor trying to teach Office 2013.....PLEASE use another author's textbook. Don't abuse your students with this mistake laden book.

A pretty good additon to the series

It's been a while since Lynn Hagen continued her "Demon Warriors" series, so it's nice that we finally watch the story progress furthers. Based in a sunless realm predominantly inhabited by demons, the ongoing story follows the Demon Warriors.... a group of demons who have special abilities and work to vanquish the evil permeating the realm. These demons aren't of the Heaven/Hell variety, but are merely immortal beings who look human, but some of whom have special abilities. This particular story centers on the Demon Warrior of Kobe and the demon Zion, a small man who was raised in Remtin, the most corrupt violent city there is in the realm.

Kobe was also raised in Remtin, but the leader of the warriors (Panahasi) saved him and made him a warrior. Kobe swore he never would go back there, but does because Zion helped them escape and is being punished for it. Something about Zion draws Kobe towards him, so Kobe goes back to rescue him. Lynn Hagen writes interesting characters, and these two are as engaging as any other she has created. Zion is so damaged, he assumes that if Kobe is helping him, Kobe is going to want sex in return (it's always been that way before). It confuses him when Kobe doesn't ask anything of him. The simple gift of a scented candle from Kobe pulls the heartstrings as Zion clutches and protects it as the only thing he really owns.

The plot is rather intricate, as many things happen. Corrupt demons unite, then battle. Malicious family members resurface. Older plotlines are closed, new ones opened. It's a busy little story. That is a strength, but a bit of a weakness. As I mentioned, it's been a while since Ms. Hagen wrote about the Demon Warriors, and that long absence appears to make it difficult to get back in the swing of writing about them. While her stories usually have good pacing and a smooth flow, this one feels jerky. Kobe and a fellow Demon Warrior go in to rescue Zion, but we don't see how they do it, we just see them go in and then are told they were successful. Too many events that are worthy of writing don't get any. This makes the book a bit uneven.

The strong point though is that the characters and emotions are nicely portrayed, and we watch the plot move forward regarding the evil demon Marino and his desire to defeat Panahasi and his warriors once and for all. So it's ultimately enjoyable, with both very strong points, but some unevenness in the pacing.

This his book #6 of the Demon Warriors series that continues the story with Kobe, the youngest of the Warriors and Zion who sacrificed himself to ensure safe passage out of Remtin. Kobe can't stop thinking about the young demon who risked himself to get him and his fellow warriors out of Remtin and decides to go back for Zion. Zion couldn't stop thinking about Kobe as well and was surprised when he sees that Kobe came back for him. Both Zion and Kobe come from similar backgrounds. Both were born and raised in Remtin, a brutal underworld filled with criminals. Panahasi rescued Kobe (as well as the other Warriors) centuries ago and trained them to be Warriors, protectors of Serenity City. The Demon Warriors are the police of Serenity City, a city completely different from Remtin. Kobe is completely enamoured with Zion but decides to take it slow; he knows that Zion does not trust easily on account of his brutal upbringing. Zion is enamoured with Kobe, but feels that he is unworthy of love. His self esteem and self worth are virtually non-existent. Both of these demons have travelled a long and hard road to hapiness which makes the HEA ending that much sweeter. This story flows well, despite the time between the last Warrior book and this one. I absolutely love Lynn Hagen's series. The way that she ties them all together is fantastic. As always, this book is not a standalone read. It is recommended that these books are read in sequential order as the characters cross over between the series. I definitely recommend her series.

Each book talks about inner demons, most have it. The warrior demons have been recruited one by one by their Leader .who saw in each of them the potential destiny, the visions Panahasi had of them. They fight to defend their Serenity City and their loved ones against the rogue demons that go after for more power. Kobe finds himself a place with memories still agonizing him, Those are the same for me..i could relate. My memories haunt me and come back in full color and full of those negative emotions. I wish i could find a love that strong to help me through each one.

Remarkable Book on a Dangerous Ideology

A remarkable account of good and evil. The good is the dedication these people had to their cause, as wrong as it was. The book is very well documented and not light reading. It is a peak under the tent of an evil ideology that is alive and well and threatening America today. It is disturbing to read how very intelligent people were lured away to divulge America's atomic bomb secrets to the Soviet Union. This man led a remarkable life, did many unimaginable things for his country and in the end, paid the same price many of his colleagues did when he was eventually sent to jail during a purge. The activities and initiatives described in this book, the result can often be seen alive and well in America today.

A must read for students of modern espionage as practiced by KGB.

A great book written by a former enemy, yet a professional intelligence KGB ranking general. It gives a convincing proof of a treasonable behavior of scientists (Oppenheimer, Fermi, etc.) on Manhattan project giving the atomic secrets to KGB and many other KGB spies from ~1920 to mid-fifties. It contains transcripts of Russian atomic bomb research scientists (Kurchatov, etc.) in response to KGB collected Manhattan project information going back to 1942!!! It has a very interesting description of Sudoplatov's interactions with his bosses (Beria, Stalin, Khrushchev, Malenkov, etc.). A must read for students of modern espionage as practiced by KGB.

As with numerous other works honestly documenting the monumental internal terrorism that was, and still is the the Russian history since 1917, Sudoplatov recounts his personal involvement in the crimes against the Russian people in the name of the absolutely corrupt Communist Party concerned with nothing but perpetuating its hold on power regardless of how many thousands or millions of its truly patriotic members had to die in the process.
